Introduction
On completion of the course, security officers and auxiliary police officers would acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes to describe contemporary terrorist threats, identify person-borne threats, vehicle-borne threats and object based threat, and carry out appropriate actions.
Assumed Attitudes, Skills and Knowledge
Participants are assumed to be able to:
- Be able to read, write and speak English at WSQ WPL Level 4
- Manipulate numbers at WPN Level 4
- Be able to read from a computer monitor and see from a distance
- Possess basic skills in operating a computer
- Individuals who do not meet the above entry requirements will be subjected to interview before acceptance
Objectives
To demonstrate mastery of the tasks in this course, the participants must be able to do the following within the given time limit and with the materials, tools and equipment supplied:
- Describe contemporary terrorist threats
- Identify person-borne threats
- Identify vehicle-borne threats
- Identify object-based threats
Physical and Medical Requirement
Participants must:
- Be certified by a medical doctor to be physically fit for work
- Not be colour-blind or hearing impaired
