
Security Agencies must ensure that their Security Officers meet the necessary Progressive Wage Model (PWM) training requirements prior to deployment. Apart from the acquisition of new skills to increase productivity or for career progression, Security Officers are paid a salary that is commensurate with their skills and experience.

Senior Security Officer (SSO) Operate security and safety systems, Regulate traffic (Road Traffic Act), Monitor security or fire command centre, Assist ministries, statutory boards or government departments in law enforcement duties, and Key press management + 6 months experience as SO to progress to SSO | 2 mandatory courses: • Access Control Management: Operate Basic Security Equipment (OBSE) • Deterrence: Manage Disorderly Conduct and Threatening Behaviour (MDCTB) |
Security Supervisor (SS) In charge of security or fire command centre with 3 or fewer personnel, Incident management and reporting, Direct supervision, and Execute evacuation plans and exercises + 1 year experience as SSO to progress to SS | 1 mandatory course: • Guard and Patrol: Supervise Security Officers (SSOC) + any 2 of the following courses: • Security Operation Compliance: Perform Supervisory Duties within Legal Framework (PSDWLF) • Capability Development: Induct Security Personnel (ISP) • Security Risk Analysis (Assess and Address Security Risks (AASR) |
